Sally Lieberman, 11th & 12th Grade Counselor

Hello Spartans and welcome to Sylmar Charter High School.

I am so happy to be a School Counselor at Sylmar Charter High School. This is my 28th year as a School Counselor with LAUSD. I’ve spent 15 years as an Elementary Counselor, 10 years as a Middle School Counselor and now I am successfully in my 4th year as your High School Counselor.

I am excited to work with our Spartan students and families in the 11th and 12th grades and I will be presently active with all Spartans throughout the year. I especially look forward to be reunited with the Sylmar families that I have built relationships with for the last 14 years coming from Sylmar Leadership Academy. I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to be here. I will be able to see some of my students grow into adulthood from Kindergarten to 12th grade.

I am a native New Yorker. I moved to Los Angeles 29 years ago and it was easy to become a Dodger Fan because they began in Brooklyn, NY. I received an Associates of Arts Degree from Community College, a Bachelors of Social Sciences from State University New York at Stony Brook, a Master's of Education in School Counseling from City University New York at Queens College, a Pupil Personnel Services and Child Welfare Attendance Credential from California State University Los Angeles and my Administrative Credential from University of Southern California. I am a lifelong learner and I know I can learn so much from the staff, students and parents at SCHS.

I have been married for 25 years. I have 2 daughters. My oldest graduated from PACE University in NYC and my baby graduated from Sacramento State University. I love the theatre, going to the movies and watching sports. I enjoy surrounding myself with positive people and I like to smile. I love to wear Rock n Roll t-shirts on Thursdays and I LOVE MY JOB.
