Memoir
I grew up in Sylmar, I attended Dyer street, OV then Sylmar high. In March of 79 my family move up north to Sonora where I finished high scool then enlisted in the US Navy for four years. It was very hard to leave my Sylmar friends that I knew for so long, my hope is that someday maybe I could be invited to attend a Sylmar high reunion. My two brothers Bill and Jim and sister Grace were able to graduate from Sylmar, Jim was a very good Spartan football player two years before. I only bring that up because, when I went out for the football team, coach Bishop got very excided to see another Wood to play football at Sylmar. Then he seen all five foot seven and 120 pounds of me, I could see he was disapointed. That was a very special time in my life, I just want to wish all my Sylmar friends the best! Take care all!
